Straight Stitch Sewing Machine

A straight-stitch sewing machine can do one straight stitch only. That means you can stitch forward straight as well as in reverse to anchor a stitch. Use this machine for single-stitch purposes to sew fabrics together. Useful on shirts, shorts, sweaters etc.

Kansai Machine

Kansai machines scan and sew heavy and lightweight waistbands such as jeans material and woven material that can be tough for regular machines. They are also used for long stitching, connecting line tapes, lap seaming, inserting elastic, and cuffing suits and blazers. This machine is handy in making tracksuits.

This will cost you between 100k for Refurb – 200k for a new one.

Flatlock sewing Machine

Flat-lock sewing machine is normally used for making cover stitches. It has got 2-3 needles and is good for hemming the sleeves and bottom portions of knitwear. This machine is Ideal for making T-Shirts and if you are creative enough. You will not need Kansai to make tracksuits. It can suffice!

Flatlock machine will cost you between 70k -100k depending on whether refurb or a new one.

Overlock Sewing Machine

An overlock Sewing machine is used to produce professionally finished seams, such as those found on ready-to-wear garments. It uses several threads to encase the raw edge of the fabric with an overcast stitch while trimming away the seam allowance.  Instead of a bobbin and single needle, the overlocker has a cutting blade, “loopers” and multiple needles. It auto-trims the fabric. Very useful for finishing.

An overlock machine will cost you a lower of 40k for a refurb and 50k for a new machine.

Hand Flat Knitting Machine

This manual knitting machine is used to produce smooth knitwear such as sweaters and you will need this if your school sweaters commercial production. There are three types.

  • Manual
  • Semi-Auto
  • Automatic

With 100k you can get a new manual hand flat knitting machine.
